Breaking News

Michael Buble is getting married sometime within the next week.
Now, I'm normally not one to get all upset over celebrity gossip, but...
I must admit that this has got me incredibly distraught.

I definitely saw it coming, after seeing this adorable, yet heart-breaking video.

She's gorgeous, isn't she?
At least when she has more than a bikini on.

I'll find my Michael Buble one day.
Chance are, he just won't sing as well
:(

Registration Woes and Weals

Weal: That which is best for someone or something
What can I say, I'm an English nerd :)

I finally have all of my classes figured out for Spring Semester.
Yes, registration wasn't that bad...
Yes, I stress out over it way too much...
Yes, I know I need to relax.

But, my name is Melissa Inkley...
Stressing is just what I tend to do over things out of my control.
 I'm working on it :)

As of now, my classes are as follows:

ED200 - History/Philosophy of Education
ENG110 - Intro to English Studies/Professions
ENG251 - Fundamentals of Literary Interpretation
FDHUM103 - Art/Propaganda in the 20th Century
FDSCI??? - (I'm still waiting to get into one of three classes)
FDREL122 - Book of Mormon
MUSIC312 - University Choir

I worried quite a bit about getting into a number of those classes.
I won't go into details, but it was quite the headache.
But guess what?!
Just as Haley, Jarom and my sister Jen all said, it worked out.
Imagine that :)

After getting a FDSCI class, I'll have a total of 16 credits for spring semester.
Hello library, good-bye social life!

Today...

I woke up at 8:00...

painted my nails with pink and purple sparkles...

watched The Wiggles and played with my niece...

ran errands I've been needing to for weeks...

listened to this song over and over again...

will attend an amazing talk at devotional...

will work five loverly hours with my BEFF Haley Adams...

will run a mile in the I-Center and then hit up the gym with Haley and Emily...

will come home, get ready for bed, sleep in her gym clothes, read Anna Karenina and fall asleep...

and then wake up for another productive day.

23 days...

Until Haley and I are road-trippin to Utah for two days and Washington for a week!
I absolutely cannot wait to hit the road for a 13 hour adventure with my best friend ever!

I'm sure there will be plenty of Haley & Melissa moments...
...because we are definitely twinners!

I'm sure about three hours in we'll get a little crazy...
...because that already happens on a weekly basis :)

And I'm sure we'll have an abso-freaking-lutely amazing time...
...because I loff her so so so very mush! :)

It's going to be an amazing road trip and an amazing week spent in Washington :)

In the meantime I have...
18 days left of long hours spent at work
3 weekends filled with adventures with the girls
Registration for spring semester classes
Packing to do
My cousins bridal shower in Utah
and General Conference!

It's going to be a long three weeks leading up to an even greater week with my BEFF! (Best Eternal Friend Forever :D)

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

"Not every sardine was meant to swim, son."
"I don't understand fishing metaphors!"

If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend you do.
It was hilarious. Or maybe that was because I was beyond exhausted while I was watching it...
but it's pretty fantastic if I may say so myself :)

"Come on, Steve! We've got diem to carpe!"

S.A.D

Seasonal affective disorder:
Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) refers to episodes of depression that occur every year during fall or winter. Symptoms improve in spring and summer.

For me, it occurs when Rexburg, ID warms up to 40 degrees and I'm able to walk around outside comfortable without a coat and my nose hairs freezing... and then the next day it's back to 25 degrees and snowing.

Flats
Shorts
Flip flops
Lemonade
Sunglasses
Windows rolled down
Walks at the park
Snoasis
Bathing suits
and more...

Is it summer yet?

Serious Business

Girl Scout Cookies

I said it. Now you want some.
You'll stop at nothing.
You're even considering getting off the couch...
putting on boots and a coat...
driving to your nearest grocery store...
and spending $7.50 for two boxes of thin mints and trefoils...
Let me tell you right now... do it.
Do it and you will not regret it.

Haley, Emily and I were on a usual weekend venture.
This weekend it was two RedBox movies
(The Social Network and Vampires Suck, if you were curious)
So we headed to Broulim's...
where we saw them - the coveted Girl Scout Cookies.
Just a few hours earlier I had expressed to Haley my deep desire for thin mints.
This was a dream come true.

After realizing we only had ten dollars cash, we were limited to two boxes...
for the three of us...

As soon as we got home we grabbed plates and sat in a circle (triangle..?) on the floor.
This was serious business.
We would all get an even amount no matter what.
So we began to divide them up, one cookie at a time...
Ending up with four cookies left.
Two Thin Mints and two Trefoils..

Four cookies...
Three girls...
See the problem?

Emily's solution:
The first person to call someone and say "I love you" gets to grab a cookie
We all called someone; we all grabbed a cookie.

A further problem...
One cookie...
Three girls...

The only solution:
Cut it into thirds.

Moral of the story...
When it comes to girl scout cookies...
we mean business.
Don't mess.

Oh, The Places You'll Go!

Happy Birthday to Dr. Seuss!

"Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go.

You'll get mixed up, of course,
as you already know.
You'll get mixed up
with many strange birds as you go.
So be sure when you step.
Step with care and great tact
and remember that Life's
a Great Balancing Act.
Just never foget to be dexterous and deft.
And never mix up your right foot with your left.

And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!
(98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.)"

(Just a vey small bit from Oh, The Places You'll Go!)
